What Is Pole Dancing?
Pole dancing is a dynamic and empowering movement practice that blends strength, flow, and self-expression. Using a vertical pole as a tool, you’ll learn spins, climbs, transitions, and floorwork that build full-body strength while encouraging creativity and confidence.
Our pole classes are designed for all levels, from first-time movers to experienced dancers looking for a new form of expression. Classes are thoughtfully structured with progressions and options, allowing you to explore movement at your own pace while continuing to grow and be challenged.
Pole dancing develops upper body and core strength, coordination, and flexibility, while also offering a powerful outlet for self-expression. Many students come for the workout and stay for the confidence — pole is about discovering what your body can do, connecting with movement, and having a lot of fun along the way.
Frequently Asked Questions
What to know before attending a pole dancing class.
Do I need any experience to start?
Nope! All of our beginner classes are designed for people who have never touched a pole before. Just bring an open mind and a sense of adventure.
What if I’m nervous to try?
Totally normal! Many students feel the same way their first time. Our instructors create a supportive, no-judgment environment so you can relax and have fun.
Can I just drop in, or do I need to commit?
You’ve got options! Try a single class with a one-time pass, grab a class pack if you’d like a block of visits, or join with a membership for the best value if you plan to come regularly.
Do I need to be strong or flexible?
Not at all. You’ll build strength and flexibility as you go. Most of our students start as complete beginners.
What if I have an injury or physical restriction?
You know your body best, and we encourage you to listen to it. Let your instructor know about any restrictions before class, and they’ll help you modify movements so you can stay safe while still enjoying the experience.
What should I wear to class?
For pole, less is more, as you need skin contact on the pole. Some students also prefer to dance with tall socks and/or knee pads. High heels are not required, but are welcome if you would like to wear them. Only pole specific shoes are allowed – no street heels, please.
Typical workout gear will work for all lessons that we offer. Please wear what you are comfortable with.
Leave the Jewlery at home. Rings, bracelets, anklets, necklaces and even earrings can scratch the apparatuses and pose a safety risk to you if they get caught.
Please do not wear street shoes past the front door and socks are always optional.
Is there an age or weight limit?
Pole classes are limited to 18+.
Our poles are Platinum Stages, which are the best in the business competition quality. We do not set a weight limit for taking our pole classes due to the quality of our poles.
Inspection of all our equipment is preformed before each class to ensure the safety of our students.
How do I sign up for a class?
Head to our online schedule, pick the class that fits your level, and register! We recommend booking ahead since spots fill up quickly.
If you are unsure what class to register for, check out our class descriptions or talk to your instructor if you feel like your ready to move up a level!
What should I bring with me?
Water, comfortable clothes, and a smile. For pole, bring a towel to clean your pole. We provide all the equipment, mats, and plenty of encouragement.
Are men allowed?
YES! Individuals of all identities are allowed and welcome to attend lessons. Our studio is inclusive of all and welcoming of anyone that wants to participate!

Stefanie N.
Owner & Pole Instructor
I first started pole in 2021 as a way to incorporate a different kind of workout into my fitness journey. After a few classes, I was hooked became an instructor and manager of the studio. In May of 2025 I purchased the studio.
In addition to managing the business side of things, I am also an instructor. Bringing my passion for fitness to the studio and helping my clients achieve their fitness goals in my greatest gift. I believe that creating a positive and supportive environment is essential for my clients and staff to thrive. I’m proud of what we have achieved as a fitness studio. It has been a challenging, but rewarding journey, and I look forward to continuing to grow The Pole Barn Studio in the years to come.

Jen C.
Youth Silks/Pole Instructor
Jen started her pole and silks journey in 2018. She was looking for a way to build up her strength while working on her love for dance. Jen fell in love with the family atmosphere of the studio and never looked back. When Jen isn’t designing pole dance routines she is hanging out with her family and friends, reading anything smut wise she can get her hands on, and baking up sweet treats to share with everyone.
Jesse K.
Jesse K.
Pole Instructor
Jesse has been pole dancing since 2017 and has been teaching pole classes since 2019. Although she would be the first to tell you she hates exercise, she fell in love with the strength and beauty of the sport right away and has never looked back. Her favorite part about aerial arts is that there is always more to learn and to discover, from perfecting new tricks to smoothing out a transition, to expressing emotions through movement and challenging yourself to be better every day. She loves to share what she learns with her students, and strives to keep classes safe, fun, and educational. Come play with her!
